A Day In The Life Of...

This is a rant I need to get out so if you don't want to read it, go away. And I don't need comments for this because we all have our days...Today was mine!  😳😝 Today started out just ok. The weather here sucks because it was cloudy all day and was drizzling/misting. The annoying shit! My unit had a special detail today and all was fine until the ride home. I get cold easily, especially when the windows are open in a car driving 70-80mph in this shitty weather. Well after standing outside for about an hour and a half, everyone was freezing. The heat was turned on high and we (I guess just me) were fine. Then someone (a guy of course) complains it was too hot in the car and proceeds to open the window. Well then the others (all guys) start complaining and thanking him for being the first to say something. Now mind you, I usually go with the flow and when it's my turn to drive, I try to accommodate. This blog has been so many different things since I first began. Even though many of the original posts have since been deleted, I decided to try this again. Everyone always makes resolutions at the beginning of a new year! But how many people actually stick with them? Over the past several years, my resolution was to not make one. That way if I didn't do something, I couldn't fail. A lot of personal and professional events happened to me over the course of last year. I broke up (or rather he 'ghosted' me) with my ex-boyfriend. I transferred to a new district. I was acting Sgt. for a while. I gained a spot in a great unit! I traded my Solar Yellow Nissan Xterra of 13 years for a Jeep Wrangler. I began a fitness journey! Although many people in our world today would love for me to gossip about anyone of those topics other than the fitness. Let's just say I wish no ill-will to the ex! Showered, hair washed, partly dressed and cursing having to work the evening shift this week with a rookie for yet the fourth straight week. I wasn't supposed to have a rookie when I transferred districts, that was the deal. But that was too good to be true or maybe I just don't mind the (little) extra pay per day. As I chilled out on my bed watching the time just fly by, I remembered that I am also working secondary again tonight! Why schedule it on the first night back??? What many people don't realize, is that officers do not get paid a whole heck of a lot of money for the chance to be shot at! YES, I chose this profession to serve and protect, however that just because YOU don't like me doesn't mean you have to be a DICK to me.
